IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS – Glendale Rd is Open!

Even though the weather forecast for most of next week shows above average temperatures, when the leaves start to turn, Red Run preparation for winter ramps up.

Here is the list of things that will be happening within the next couple of weeks:

  1. On Monday, Oct 2, Top Bud will be applying the last lawn treatment for the season (lakeside only). Please remember to keep your pets away from the grass for several hours or until the treatment has dried.
  2. Docks will be removed immediately after Autumn Glory – during the week of October 16th. Please be sure to have your boat out of the water prior to Monday, October 16th.
  3. It has been reported that our gutters are gathering debris, so at this time we are collecting estimates to clean them.  It is important to keep them free of leaves, needles and twigs so that the flow of water is not compromised. The date will be announced as soon as it is established.
  4. Estimates are being collected to repair the concrete walkway in front of building 3 and also to pour a small strip for under the pumphouse garage door. This will be done before the snow flies.
  5. The pool area furniture is mostly put away but we still have several items that will be stored after the siding project is completed. We have to leave enough room in the bathrooms for the siding workers to use the facility.
  6. There are several black plastic bags in the Pool play area (other side of the fence) that contain kids furniture and various floating devices. They have been in the area all summer. To whomever these belong, please come and collect them. If they are not removed before the pool completely closes, we will assume they are abandoned and will be placed in the dumpster.
  7. The Pumphouse is beginning to collect more things that are not identified. Any personal items should be marked with a name or unit number. For example, there are 4 or 5 green, plastic chairs that have not moved for a couple of years. To the owner: we were wondering if they could be used up at the tennis courts for observers?. Just a thought.
  8. The only update I have with regard to the new home construction on the restaurant property is that very shortly they will begin excavation. The builder explained as soon as the permits are issued, they will start the project.
  9. With regard to the underground storage tanks (USTs): the MDE has been contacted. They researched the history of the gas station but found nothing. Apparently there was very poor record keeping before the 80s so there is no record of a gas station even existing. The Garrett County Environmental Health Dept. has been to the site and apparently did not find any evidence of USTs. However; they placed a caveat to the construction permits issued to the builder and property owner that if any USTs are discovered, they are to notify the MDE and the county immediately.
